ABOUT THE CADENZA MIDI DIARY
What is this site?
The Cadenza MIDI Diary is a site where composers showcase their original work.
Why is it called a MIDI Diary?
When we began in November 1997, we published only MIDI files, and published a new original MIDI file every day for nine years, until November 2006. Since then we've switched to a new system, accepting other file formats (MP3, Quicktime, WAV, Windows Media and experimental Flash support), and more (or occasionally less!) than one original music file per day, and allowing a certain amount of multimedia work.
Why has my music disappeared?
Music published between November 1997 and November 2006 is still available on the server, and we showcase a few of these older pieces each day at the bottom of our main page. You'll also find some of the older pieces on the various composers' homepages - follow the links from their names on the LATEST MUSIC page.
You're welcome to submit any or all of your older original music again by uploading it to the new MIDI diary, even if it has appeared before in the old diary. In this way, you can put your older pieces into the correct categories.
Where has your 'MIDI LINKS' section gone?
These are no longer available on the Cadenza MIDI Diary homepage, but you can see them HERE, in the sound section.

What happened to the 'Design Experiment'?

I uploaded some music but it hasn't appeared. Why?
All music uploaded via our form is checked manually (moderated). Usually your music will appear within a day (and often much quicker). If there's a problem, we'll try to contact you by email. If you don't hear anything within 2-3 days, please GET IN TOUCH.

We take great care to ensure that all music, images and other media in the Cadenza MIDI Diary are either copyright-free or published with the full consent of the copyright holder. If you think we may be using your music or images without permission, please CONTACT US ASAP, with the exact address of the file(s) and details of your claim to them.
