A Simple Melody

by James K. Taylor

This little song goes through five processes. First, I made up a simple melody. Second, I added harmony (did you know for the most part, you can create harmony by playing a 3rd or a 6th below the melody-you will have to let your ear determine which sounds the best.) The third process is to add the bass line. The fourth part is to add a countermelody or chords. Finally, you can add dynamics, expression, and tempo changes. Enjoy.
