This piece was written over the course of about sixth months. The first half was written in February 2006 and the second half (about 2:00 in) was written in July or August, I can't exactly remember which.
I'm not sure exactly what inspired me to write this, but I'm glad that I did - this is perhaps the favorite composition I've created to date.
If you've heard it before, I submitted the MIDI version of this a while back at Laura's Midi Heaven under the name Destructomatic 5001.
